Set to launch September 28 and last through October 5, the Holistic Oral Health Summit will feature 34 of the world’s leading experts on the connection between oral health and whole body health. Through online video presentations, dozens of professionals will lend their expertise on the importance of improving oral health, reversing gum disease and preventing cavities and systemic infections caused by oral pathogens.
The Holistic Oral Health Summit, available FREE online, will include information about how and why oral health is closely tied to cardiovascular disease, autoimmune disorders and even cancer.
One of the featured experts is Dr. Blanche D. Grube, a Board-Certified Biological Dentist with the International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine (IABDM), a Houston-area-based organization committed to educating holistic dentists about the importance of integrating the body, mind, spirit and mouth through non-toxic diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
Specializing in biological dentistry, or dental work using nontoxic and systemically compatible material, and holistic dentistry, which considers the patient’s emotional and spiritual health in addition to their dental health, Dr. Grube has provided exceptional dentistry and surgical expertise in her private practice for 30+ years.
Dr. Blanche Grube’s journey into holistic dentistry
Based out of Scranton, Pennsylvania, Dr. Grube holds a second doctorate in Integrative Medicine and was trained extensively in homeopathy, nutrition, iridology, colon hydrotherapy, neural therapy and acupuncture, the latter of which she provides to patients after removing dangerous mercury containing amalgams to aid in detoxification and to promote healing.
After practicing conventional dentistry for the first 10 years of her career, Dr. Grube abruptly changed course after being asked by a patient if mercury containing dental amalgams could be contributing to her health problems.
Eventually, Dr. Grube met and became an enthusiast of Dr. Hal Huggins, DDS, MS, who pioneered treatments for autoimmune diseases caused by dental toxins and whose work is now known as the “Huggins Protocol.” You can learn more about him and his work here.
Impacted wisdom teeth and your immune system
Dr. Grube, who is now the president of IABDM and at the forefront of biological dentistry in the 21st century, will be presenting on the health dangers associated with impacted wisdom teeth at the Holistic Oral Health Summit.
Her lecture will discuss what you need to know BEFORE extracting a wisdom tooth, how to properly extract one as well and the effect it can have on your energy levels.
“If something is in the wrong spot in the body, the body is going to spend a lot of time, a lot of energy, and waste, unfortunately, a lot of precious white blood cells trying to get rid of what does not belong there,” says Dr. Grube.
“Now, if somebody has a perfectly good wisdom tooth that has erupted at the right time, which is usually between the ages of 18 to 23, if it’s erupted during that time and the tooth is in the mouth, wonderful. Congratulations! Leave it alone,” she adds. “But if the tooth is impacted, then that’s going to be an added stress to your immune system.”
Dr. Grube says that’s what her practice is all about, “removing stressors to the immune system so that your body can deal with the really important things that are coming down the pike. We live in a very stressful world. We live in a world that has all kinds of environmental toxins. The last thing you want to do is add one more.”
